Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind

As you come in contact with so many people, it is likely that you will spend time with people who are like Simon Peter before that fourth encounter:  They just need one final touch to bring them to a rock-solid faith in Christ.

What Is ”The” Problem

While they were actively working in the church, God spoke to the leadership of the church that it was time for the church to separate Paul and Barnabas for "The" work.  The work they were doing was "A" work, preparing them for "The" work to which they had been set apart to do.

Who Will Possess The Promise

All these promises of God, as God reveals them to us, as He lets us see them, are there for us to possess.  But in order to possess them, we must by faith, like Abraham, walk out those promises in our lives.

Should She Not Be Free

This woman, when she went to synagogue this day, she not only experienced a good service, she heard the Word of God from the Living Word, and experienced the power of God which set her free.

The Long Way Is Not My Way

Empowering us to deal with the situations we face instead of just removing the problems in front of us seems like the long way around.  I want God to do it for me, not to have the responsibility to do something myself.  Yet, that's not how God chooses to work.

Wisdom and Souls

It is people who are willing to impart the life of Christ through their words and their actions into other people that they my become righteous positionally, and functionally.  This process of discipleship, taking hold of a soul and shaping them to live righteously is, according to our text, what it means to behave wisely.

The Ministry of Jesus

Like Jesus, our assignment is through the empowerment of the Spirit, to teach and to do the works of the Lord that Jesus might be made known and His name would be glorified in the earth.

Increase Our Faith

In our text, the apostles wanted more faith, Jesus' answer turns them from the thought of a lass and a more in faith to faith's genuineness.  If there is real faith, then action follows.  We simply need to act on the Word of God and allow our faith to be demonstrated by our obedience to it.

The Priests and Sacrifices

As His priests, we act as ambassadors, chosen vehicles through whom God has chosen to serve and represent Him, on His behalf.  In order to faithfully do that, we must maintain and foster our love and reverence for God.

Then The Cloud And The Glory

God's purpose is still to dwell in the midst of His people.  As we live in conformity to His Word, we can and should expect to see the Presence of God, the Glory of God manifest in us and through us as did Moses and the Israelites.
